Moving Over to Facebook
I've been debating this for weeks. I have a personal blog and this one. I also maintain a Facebook page and twitter. All in all, blogs seem to be the most time consuming. Soooo...I've decided that I will be posting everything on my page on Facebook instead. Look it up if you all are interested. I share several deals I find on blogs/pages I follow on a daily basis.

Crowdtap
I just joined today. I've been part of a few "rewards" type sites in the past. This one seems really cool though. You complete polls on the site and actions to earn points and money towards rewards. I think it's definitely worth your time to check it out. Please use my button the side if interested, and it'll take you where you need to go. After only signing up this afternoon, I was able to apply to be screened to get a free decorated tank from Old Navy. If selected, I get a voucher for my free tank, AND a few to give out to my friends! Let's hope I get picked! You are rewarded with $1 in your account and 300 pts. for just signing up! Each poll I've taken so far has rewarded me with 25 pts. each. CHECK IT OUT!

When to Buy/Stock up on Items
I generally call myself a planner. Somethings are more "organized" and "planned out" then others - like our groceries. We live on a very tight budget, so I am always trying to stockpile when I can get items for free (OOP). I came through THIS blog through The Thrifty Mama, which I also follow. I found THIS post to be SO helpful with knowing when to anticipate items to be going on sale so you can maximize your savings with coupons! Check it out!

Grocery Tally
Alright, here we go! My husband and I had a really nice talk last night about our finances. If you know us, you know Tim's job situation has been really rough. We talked how finances was affecting our relationship and how draining it is on us. SSSSOOOO, to hold myself more accountable to my grocery budget, I am going to post my tally each week for grocery expenses. I'm hoping this will really make me look at what I'm spending even more, and be even a better stewart of the provisions God's given to us. I really want to bring the total down to $60 a week, but I am noticing I am pretty much staying at $70-80 a week.
To keep it simple, if there is change, I will round the total to the next whole dollar amount (i.e. $24.34 will be rounded to $25)
Food 4 Less - $11 (Bread was on clearance and stocked up!)
Ralphs - $25 (Saved $36.54)
Vons - $29 (Saved 61% - my rule is that I generally have to save AT LEAST 50%, if I am going to Vons)
Total: $65

Wednesday Weeklies (A DAY EARLY! - AGAIN!)
Trying something a little bit different. I went ahead and listed everything I thought was a GOOD-GREAT deal, and my coupon match ups. This took twice as long, however, I have everything set for Saturday. Tim gets paid on Friday, so most of the shopping will be done Friday-Saturday. Let me know if you guys like this better. It takes longer, but everything is set for me - so I think it's a win-win. Highligthed items are what I "plan" to get. My estimated total before coupons (and after club card savings) = $113 - $26.99 (in coupons) = $86.01 estimated cost. This is a little "high" for a weekly trip. My goal is to spend about $50 a week at the grocery store. The closest I've really gotten is about $60, which is not bad for a family of 4 (and one on the way). Of course, I'll be scouring for other coupons. AND since I am not going out until Saturday, I am hoping to snag some more coupons out of the early paper. If you are a "couponer," I highly recommend buying the early paper edition (for the coupons) and/or buying an extra Sunday paper for the coupons when the inserts are good.

Manic Monday
Sundays are our day of rest. We go to church, worship our Lord, and spend time with the family. It's a relaxing day typically. I also usually spend the afternoon going through the coupon inserts and Sunday ads. I hope you were as excited as I was that the monthly PG insert came out! (Proctor and Gamble).
On Sundays, I start making my list of what's on sale where and what I need. Unless I can get it for free, or at a very little OOP (out of pocket) expense, I strictly stick to what we NEED. My rule has really become that to get it it must be on sale AND I must have a coupon for it. Unless, of course, we ABSOLUTELY need the item, ie. diapers, and such.
Here is my list of what I plan on picking up this week. I may not get EVERYTHING on the list. It gives me a goal to set for our weekly budget. Sundays are typically Non-Food lists, while Tues./Wed. are food grocery list days.
Monday starts my "manic" shopping rounds. I always go to stores I pass on the way to save gas, rarely venturing out too much out of my regular route unless I absolutely NEED to. Today was Albertsons and CVS.

- Took advantage of their Buy 5 General Mills products and get a free gallon of milk (up to $4) - this is good up until tomorrow. I stacked this deal with printed coupons from coupons.com. I used 2 75c. off multigrain cheerios, 1 $1 off 2 lucky charms, and 1 55c. off honey-nut cheerios. I spent approx. $9.
- I may or may not hit up Vons for this deal. It's not a necessity, but it is a GOOD deal. Buy 2 Pepsi products, get 2 FREE, and 1 FREE bag of Tostitos. It'll turn out to approx. $11.98 + CRV, which isn't BAD AT ALL for 4 12-packs and a bag of chips. However, they also have Buy 2 Get 3 FREE, so I try to wait for those deals.
- Colgate Max Clean $2.77 Get $2.77 back = FREE (There's a cojpon for 75c. off in the smartsource coupon inserts this week)
- Charmin $4.99 Get $1 = $3.74
- Cascade products - Buy $10 Get $3 Back (I got these today because I had $7 ECB's to use.), I ended up spending $1.01.

- Bic Soliel Shimmer $6.99 Get $3 = $3.99 (There is also a $3 off coupon in the PG insert)
- Noxema Razors (4 pk) $3.99 Get $3 = 99c (There's a $2 coupon for this in the redplum coupon insert)
- Bic Soleil (4 pk - disposables) $5.99 Get $2 (There's a $3 off coupon in the smartsource coupon insert)
- ProGlide Gillette Razor $9.99 Get $5 = $4.99 (Use the $4 off in the PG coupon insert and it's 99c!)

Thursday Tips
When my husband and I first got married, I'll do "bulk" shopping. Buy big, buy once - I figured if I just do one big trip a month, I'm saving on gas, and saving on having to make repeated trips to the grocery store. I also used to have the mindset that I would only shop at ONE store because they HAD the best stuff. However, as much as I tried to really plan out what I needed over the course of a month, I'd always miss SOMETHING, or SOMETHING would always come up unexpectedly. I also came to realize that in terms of being responsible with my finances, my dedication/allegiance to just ONE store really wasn't helping.
As our family grew, I came to realize that we simply didn't have the finances to put forward for an ENTIRE month of groceries. I get paid once a month, and covered a bulk of our bill expenses. My husband gets paid twice a month, which we rely on for living expenses.
For the past couple years, I started making a grocery list for multiple stores. Each week, I make a list of what's on sale for the stores nearest to me (or I pass on my way going to and from work). The goal is to plan your route so that you are not going too much out of your way than your regular traveling route.
I often hit most stores I need to shop at one afternoon afterwork. I'll plan out my route from work to home, trying to hit stores up as I come pass them. That way I'm not making a special trip out.
Because I go through the ads weekly, I get groceries weekly. However, I spend a whole lot less than buying them once a month. My typical goal for our family of 4 (soon to be 5 in July) is about $50 a week. Now this is strictly food - no toiletries or diapers.
My very supportive husband found this blog of me, and I'd like to pass on. It goes through some benefits of shopping at multiple stores. I hope it helps you guys out! Click HERE for the blog.

Baby Week at CVS!
It's Baby Week at CVS! This week spend $25 in select baby products and get a free umbrella stroller! Umbrella stroller is Cosco brand.
Little Movers/Snug n Dry - $20
Huggies Tub - 2/$5
I got a box of diapers and 2 tubs of wipes. I had $17 ECB's to use, and used $3.50 off for diapers and $0.50 off for wipes.
I also got a freebie coupon in my e-mail for candy (up to $2) and got a $1 off cereal (when I scanned my CVS card). Below is my loot...just over $6.
